However, with so many options available on the market, it can be overwhelming to find the best studio monitors or speakers that fit your budget. In this blog, we’ll be discussing the best studio monitors or speakers under €500,- that offer excellent sound quality and value for money.
1. Adam Audio T7V
The Adam Audio T7V are a great option if you’re searching for speakers within a range of €500,-/ This might be the best studio monitor in its price range, period. The tonal balance is spectacular to our ears, and doesn’t distort or muddy at higher volumes. The bass response on these monitors in particular is quite impressive.
A superbly fine-tuned low end makes listening to music through these a wonderful experience, and mixing even easier.
They could maybe be better with a more neutral frequency response, but for €500,- a pair, it’s hard to complain at all. Adam Audio ceases to amaze us with the quality of their products.
2. KRK Rokit RP5 G4
The KRK Rokit RP5 G4 is an excellent option for a budget-friendly studio monitor. It offers a balanced sound with a 5-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter, and it comes equipped with a built-in DSP that allows you to adjust the sound to your liking. The Rokit RP5 G4 also features a front-firing port that reduces boundary coupling, making it easier to place in different positions.
3. Presonus Eris E5 XT
The Presonus Eris E5 XT is another great option for a budget-friendly studio monitor. It features a 5.25-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter that deliver a balanced and accurate sound. The Eris E5 XT also comes equipped with a high-pass filter and a low-frequency cutoff that allows you to adjust the sound to your room’s acoustics.
You’ll also want to make sure that your speakers are placed away from walls and corners. This will help prevent low-frequency sound from accumulating in those areas. You can use bass traps to absorb any low-frequency sound that does accumulate.
4. JBL Professional 305P MkII
The JBL Professional 305P MkII is a popular choice among music producers for its excellent sound quality and affordability. 5. Yamaha HS5
The Yamaha HS5 is a very special monitor, although somewhat divisive. We wouldn’t personally use them as primary monitors, but this is fairly subjective, and they can truly work wonders for some.
They’re not necessarily the most accurate monitors in the world, but most people who would recommend them don’t use them for that reason. The presence in the midrange and upper frequencies is incredibly heavy-handed. While they’re not as abrasive as the infamous NS-10, the HS5 can occupy a very similar space in the mixing process.
They will highlight the problems in your mix and border on making your music sound cartoonish (hyperbolic but we stand by it). Believe it or not, this is an amazing quality to find in a set of monitors, but we wouldn’t recommend them for everybody.
